Barb's knees #3

Gosh Darn! No one told me yesterday was Valentine’s Day! I could have made a card for that hottie black-and-white kitty. What an octet! Oh, excuse me … Little HM told me to keep it clean …

Big HM knew but never told me! I only found out because I found the card he made for Little HM. It’s really very simple and not up to my standards but he did manage to use some fancy staples. I laughed when I saw where he put them though … he’s got no idea of how to use Little HM’s tools … and it looks like he used his teeth to cut the paper! Like I said before: I think he answers why we sometimes eat our young.

I know Little HM ‘stages’ photos so I tried too. I think she must use a better backdrop though. The inside of the card is too mooshy to print here … almost made me cough-up a hairball.

Hey, I got some great comments from the ‘evolutionary-challenged’ (dogs) about my party. There are three dogs that come around once in a while and they seem okay but they give me the creeps. Once, they came right up on the deck and Big HM even opened the door for me to check them out but when one tried to sniff me, I went crazy and told them off. Something inside me just doesn’t like critters twenty times my size that could eat me in a single bite. Perhaps I should consult Dr. Phil about this but that’s for another day …

Anyway, dogs can come but I don’t think the mouse-kabobs would be to their liking. And tell them not to slobber … we know where that slobber has been … yuck!

But no squirrels! Too distracting; they wreck the party!

Little HM actually made a few steps yesterday. And today she’s on a continuous motion machine that moves her knees 0-60°, one at a time, for 1½ hours each. Again, she’s in high spirits and is now taking pain pills as required rather than the shots she got post operation. Big HM was going to visit her today but is having too much trouble so your emails will have to wait till tomorrow.

There is some difficulty in getting a bed at the other hospital so she’s staying at Thunder Bay Regional at least one more day. Her doctor promised she would not leave there until she either had a bed at St. Joe’s or was ready for home.

Big HM hasn’t done anything yet today but is already exhausted so I’m going to sit with him awhile and leave the computer. Keep all those prayers coming … they’re working!

Hank, you are one very awesome cat to keep such great updates on little HM. Jennifer is absolutely tickled pink to hear about her progress so far and so quickly.

Hank, try not to be too hard on Big HM's card making skills. We know that cats are the superior race but it is our job not to rub it in. Oh wait...maybe we ARE supposed to rub it in. That is why they think we are aloof.

We are going to pack our kitty suitcases and come to your party via dog sled if we can get our two big galumphs of dogs to pull us in the same direction. If we don't make it, we'll be there in spirit.

Oh...Jennifer sends head skritches to Barb. Or maybe she said hugs. I don't know.......

Yeah, yeah, yeah...and Gabe and Bella and Jennifer and Paul too!

Love the card Big HM made for Valentines! Great effort - the fancy staples are a great embellishment!

So glad to hear that Barb's doing okay. It's great she's moving her legs some with the machine and is off the "hard stuff" (pain killer-wise).

Thanks for the updates. Love and prayers to Barb for a continued successful recovery.

Great card! Don't be too hard on big HM Hank, not many would even try - little HM's shoes are hard to fill! We put some mousekabobs on ice and are trying to arrange our escape so that we can come to your party - our HM is really strict about going outdoors, so we're not sure we can make a break. Please pass on all our continued good wishes and prayers for a very speedy recovery to GrammaStamper! ~harold and maude (p.s. we don't think much of those doggy creatures either! and chris sends her best too)
