Barb's knees #11

Judging by the comments on yesterday’s intermission, perhaps I should have tried harder to get Tom Petty …

And as for my card, many thanks for your kind words. It is evident that you all can do things which I can’t. I am really impressed with the cards you’ve sent to Little HM. I may be able to work around the keyboard, but there’s nothing like the feel of the real thing. When Little HM returns, maybe I’ll team with her to get that done the way my mind had it. If not, know that it is sincere, even if not quite ‘hand-made’.

Big HM was gone most of the afternoon today. He says Little HM is doing fantastic. She walked all the way to a room with a computer but the internet wasn’t working; otherwise, she would have said hello to all you shackies herself. The surgeon came by today and was duly impressed as well. He said he hadn’t expected to see as much flexibility improvement ever, let alone so soon. She gets in/out of bed fine and, while some accommodations are still necessary, she is now classified as “ambulatory”.

She is considering coming home early if a few things are put in place. Big HM took measurements of the heights of chairs and beds so she’ll show that to her occupational therapist on Monday and we’ll see from there.

As a bonus, the weather here is terrific, at least considering the cold-snap that has lasted most of the month. It’s still a long way to Spring but perhaps Winter’s worst is behind us.

Sounds like Barb is continuing to do great and I am sure she will be thrilled to come home early if they let her. That's great! Tell her I said hi and give her a big hug from me!

It sounds like Barb should be back to her stamping, chit chatting self soon. Woo hoo!

Good to hear your prognosis is even finer from the doctor's perspective, Barb. You just might be chasing your gr.kids this summer.
Take care.

Hank, that is GREAT news about little HM. She is amazing! I sure hope that she can come home to you and big HM sooner, rather than later. Jennifer still thinks Barb is wonder woman and she says that Barb is a superhero! Sort of the bionic woman. Huh? Anyway ... just reporting what she said even if humans don't make sense.

Hey, STOP sending your lousy T'undar Bay weather east! Here in Ottawa it snows, and snows and then just for fun it snows and more ice. I haven't stepped foot outdoors since last November. When can I catch a bird or two? Dry kitty cuisine gets old day in and day out. So stop pushing winter this way, ok?

Purrs and rubs,
Tango, Merlin, and Renoir (and all those other noisy creatures in our household!)
