That 'green-eyed' monster has reared its ugly head!

That's it, I'm officially jealous! So, I'm going to take matters into my own hands and beat the beast back. Of what am I jealous, you might ask? And just how do I plan to beat it back is on the mind's of all who are reading this right now, I'm sure.

What's making me jealous is reading other people's blogs and seeing the interesting stuff they write about, or the gorgeous cards they display and how many comments people are leaving for the Bloggor (new word I just made up, those who read blogs will henceforth be known as Bloggees)! My plan to beat the beast back is simple. I'LL HOLD A CONTEST! All you need to do enter this contest is leave me a comment telling me how you choose your topics! Easy, right? I want to know where you get your ideas and you will be rewarded. I've got enough crafting supplies to open my own store, so as soon as this has been published, I'm going to go to my craft room and pull some stuff together. Then I'll take a picture of the goodies and come back here and post the picture. As promised, here is the picture of the goodies offered in my contest. BTW, Contest closes March 11th, 7:00 p.m. EDST. Also, feel free to post a link to the contest on your blog, too. In the meantime, Bloggees, please leave me comments regarding places to get ideas, interesting ones, of course, and that will be your entry. Here's a picture of a card I made yesterday just to make this posting a prettier one!
Thanks for looking.

Barb,

Not sure I'm a good on to comment on what to write about. I write about my daily life with my two boys and DH! I put on my favorite cards that I have made. Next week I'm going to work on customizing my blog with a cool header and trick it all for my Birthday. I'm going to do a contest then too!

I love your blog and read it. I will start to comment more. I promise!

Hi Barb,

No exciting method over here either. I make one card every day and post it in the blog if I like it. If I don't like the days card, I post "jibber jabber". I try to keep the "jibber jabber" to a universal topic so that it relates to more readers (I hardly blog about family life); I also have a theme for every Tuesday. I want to have a theme for every day each week, but so far only Tuesday has one. Maybe i will think of one more today. (BTW- Tuesday is flashback 80's day on my blog.) On the other hand, since it's primarily a craft blog, I don't want to theme it up because I am afraid of the blog becoming boring. I just re-read this...LOL I've got pretty much nothing to say! ~Julie.. back to bed...

Other than describing my card (which I'm never sure I should do), I write about anything else that's in my mind or whatever. No great secret from me. I have the hardest time coming up with post titles most days!

Hey Barb! Thanks for posting a new contest. :O) Okay, my answer is simple, I have 3 blogs, 2 of which are active at the moment. On one I just post whatever is going on in my life at the moment, and on my creative blog, I post any new projects I've done or things that may be happening on the Shack!

Let's see, where do I get my little goodies on my blog? I search the internet when I can't sleep and come up with all kinds of places. For my flip flop for dummies book, i went to: http://www.wishafriend.com/. Its mainly for my space accounts I think but it works the same for blogs. They have 1,000's of cute things on there. I have music on my blog which some people like and don't like. Since my family reads my blog, I have to put my daily things I do in there. Like Emily's soccer games, etc since they are interested in that. That's about it. I am not too exciting :). Sherri

Well my blog is basically organized into blog candy and other stuff...ha! (The only consistent things I do is post links to tutorials, blog candy and my "Inspiring Blog of the Week"). What motivates my paper crafts is a) what do I need ASAP? and b) what are the current challenges on the Daring Cardmakers, SCS or CPS...other than that, I suspect I have no original ideas of my own!

Well Barb if you've ever looked at my blog it's kinda boring. I usually just post about how my day was or post that I've added new pics. Other then that I'm boring. Sorry if this doesn't help much.

Well my blog isn't finished yet so I'm not a good one to comment about topics. I can't believe how easy all of you with such wonderful blogs make it look! I have been struggling with mine for a month or so and had to take a break from trying to figure it out! It's no fun being technology challenged! What I intend to do when my blog is up and running is to think about something important to me for that day and run with it. Usually it will be a card for someone or a special project or maybe just a blurb about my wonderful family that inspires me that day.

Thanks,

Teresa

I write mostly about my daily life..silly things that I do, or that my kids do...

I do have stamping thoughts from time to time. Also, I'm getting ready to do my next blog candy contest myself. (As soon as I come up wtih a catch!)

I did decide that my blog needs more pictures. That would probably be a great place to begin too!

I have a friend who has been our UPS man for 25+ years. He blogs and got me into it. Blogging for me is a way to vent my emotions...and let me tell you...a have a slew of them.

There are so many amazing stampers out there that I don't usually post anything I stamp. But I did a couple of times and might have to try it again.

Craft store....? I'm waiting for my daughters to come and empty me out. This is crazy. No one person, at my age, needs this much stuff.

But of course, I always think I do. Hence, I am trying for your blog candy. Thanx for the chance. Come visit.

Honestly, I don't have a "method" of choosing topics. If I work on a project, I'll post it in my blog. If I buy an interesting craft item (like over the weekend, I'd bought some plastic robin's eggs and dove's eggs.....they look so real and awesome for altered art projects). The whole idea of my blog is to allow me to keep a "diary" of what I'm working on; and to let my family and friends see what I'm working on. If I have something craft-related to share, it'll go on my blog. Otherwise, I don't try too hard to "stretch my brain" to enteratin the "bloggers."

Although I don't blog myself, I always say "do what please you". I think if you were to change your blog for the readers, then it wouldn't be fun for you. Post your cards that you like, post directions on how you did them, new products you've bought, etc. Whatever interests you...because the real reason you started the blog is for you. I think the readers will come when they see your passion & know that your having fun with it. Good luck

I come up with comments depending on whatever pops in my mind which includes stuff I'm posting about. Not real interesting, but that's how I do it.

Hmm, I just post whatever I make and write a description of it. I try to tell where I got the stamps and put links a lot. I have a seperate blog for family stuff that grandparents and that type look at so I try to keep my craft blog just crafts, but my boys sneak into everything of course.

I love to go from one blog link to the next jumping around and seeing the work of stampers I'd have never seen otherwise. I actually only have a few I read all the time, mostly I jump all over and read different ones. :)

When I post on my blog I first upload the photo and then I look at it and let it inspire what I will write. I don't like to write too much because I know people have a lot of blogs to look at and probably won't take the time to read it anyway. :-)

These days I get most of my inspiration from either blogs or Splitcoaststampers. It used to be magazines but I haven't seen anything inspiring in any of them for a while!

Hi, I am not a blogger myself although I do wish to have one someday. I would just write whatever you want to write about, afterall it is a blog for you! I know if or when I have a blog of my own, I would just write about my day to day life, my kids, my hubby, etc... so just do whatever it is that makes you happy!

I'm kind of in the same position... I am new to the blogging world. It's a great way for me to share cards that I've made (or to get me to take a pic of them before I give them away) I just talk about what's going on in my life, my craft goals, what I am working on, etc... I get a lot of inspiration from SCS also. :)

Barb, i just talk about my life. I attend night school, so some of my posts (labelled Adventures In Night School) talk about that. I also have an obsession with Littlest Pet Shop, so i talk about that. i talk about my pets (my hamster, Marshall, who was missing for 2 months, was returned to me, and sadly passed away...my cat nicki and her diabetes...). I hold a challenge every monday.

My topics are inspired by the cards I post. If I post a butterfly card, I share a story about butterflies.
(I loved seeing the photo of you with my old stamping pal Nicky! We used to stamp together a couple of times a month!)

I actually have three blogs, one for cards and stamping, another for weird stuff and those are both open to the public. I also have another that no one sees, at least for now. Maybe someday I will publish it, but it is where my soul is right now. I just havent had much time to write in any of them lately as I am catching up on kits I am making for a group.

Wow! I love blog candy and I'll post your link on my blog - I just created a blog yesterday! I think I'll be posting exclusively about the cards I make for friends and family.

I don't have a blog yet, but my daughter and I are thinking of doing one together.I think we exhibit cards and projects we are doing, parts of our everyday lives, things that we try and don't work out, things that do, plus a theme for everyday to blog about.

Recently, most of my ideas come from stamping blogs. Although, I am a stamping magazine addict, too. Thanks for sharing your blog candy.
